Author Pascal Coppens is an entrepreneur at heart with more than 20 years of experience in China and Silicon Valley. Pascal has employed, partnered and competed with hundreds of Chinese innovators. Currently he is a trusted advisor and an inspiring keynote speaker.
Pascal’s first-hand business experience, extensive network and flawless understanding of the customer mind, help his audiences to truly understand what is happening in this new frontier of innovation, how it will impact us and what we can learn from it. He is a widely respected China expert, as much for his knowledge and insights, as for his passion in sharing his understanding of how China will shape the world’s Day After Tomorrow, and how we can use that to our advantage.
First and foremost, Pascal takes his audience on a journey into the immense potential of this new land of opportunity: with eye-opening stories that go far beyond the usual suspects of the BAT (Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent), into the realm of fast and furious innovators like Mobike, Face++ and a whole pack of exciting new start-ups and scale-ups. Pascal will introduce you to the realChina, its potential to the rest of the world – moving from ‘Made in China’ to ‘Created in China’ – and to your business.
He started his career at Alcatel in Shanghai, and – after an intense period in Silicon Valley at Wind River Systems (today’s IoT software division of Intel) and Polycore Software (which he co-founded) – he returned to China and later founded Letsface to build the first offline digital community platform for premium brands. To help technology companies scale their business into the Chinese market, he also co-created Sinnolabs in 2016: a Chinese growth accelerator for Innovative European SMEs.
Pascal’s book “China’s New Normal”, offers sensational insights into business and technology in China and their potential for the rest of the world. The book is available as Paperback in Dutch and English plus as E-Book in Dutch, English, French and German. Pascal’s second book “Can We Trust China?”, brings clarity to the debate in an extremely fascinating way. He takes the reader on a journey through China’s values and traditions. This fascinating reflection offers the reader a well-founded and nuanced answer to that one crucial question: can we trust China? The book is available as Paperback and E-Book in Dutch and English.
