Elite-level competition, managing high-performing teams and inspirational leadership have been the common denominators in Bernard’s international professional experiences of over 40 years.
Starting his career as a professional footballer, Bernard later established an internationally renowned Cycling Development Center where he mentored over 1000 young cyclists from 34 countries. He later founded and managed a professional cycling team, whilst at the same time becoming a consultant on international sports development for clients in Asia and the Middle East.
For more than 20 years Bernard lived at a high pace, travelling and working across three continents. Five years ago he realised it was time again for a new chapter in his life, becoming a certified career coach and mentor to high-potential talent in business. He also stepped into the academic sphere as a lecturer on leadership at Antwerp Management School.
Together with his wife Ann and his two Old English Sheepdogs, Kashmir and ZsaZsa, Bernard volunteers at Villa Samson (UZ Jette, Brussels), where he endeavours to boost the happiness and mental wellbeing of sick children.
